Summary

A Roman coin was found in the roots of a blown-down tree in 1982, and part of a Neolithic polished flint axehead was found in 2000.

2 March 1982. In picnic area close to Devils Punchbowl car park.
Probably just west of the mere itself, but not accurately located. Found in roots of tree blown down in gales.
