Second visit showed part of medieval scatter and red brick-like fragments, tentatively identified as medieval briquetage by D. Hall.
Distinct concentration on south side medium roddon covering area about 30m northeast to southwest x 20m, although fragments of briquetage and occasional sherds much more widely spaced to north probably through plough spread.
Identified by D. Hall and R. Silvester (NAU) December 1982.
R.Silvester notes that he later reidentified briquetage as simply pieces of brick. One is medieval roof tile - A. Rogerson (NAU).
E. Rose (NAU) 5 January 1987.
Some of the material found has been reidentified as quern fragments.
