Summary

Fenland fieldwalking in 1982 recovered sherds of Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery. Some of these finds were associated with a roddon of unknown date. Further investigation of the area during 1993 and 2004 retrieved medieval bronze vessel fragments, a post medieval buckle, undated animal bone and more multi-period pottery sherds.

Context 1: Spread of medieval sherds occasionally over field, mostly at north end.
Context 2 (at 4967 1219). About 40m northwest to southeast x 30m northeast to southwest.
Concentration of Roman sherds on top of medium sized roddon.
Includes Samian and mixed with a concentration of medieval sherds which are spread an extra 30m along roddon to northwest.

Context 3, same as Context 1 but with small addition on west, and suggested as running from under pasture in east. Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval sherds.
