Full Description
14 December 1982.
Scatter of medieval sherds across this field (not orchard now as on 6in Ordnance Survey). Perhaps due to manuring but probably spread from: Context 1 at 4813 1081.
Small medieval site adjacent to road which could be on roddon. Sherds continue up to edge of bungalow plot.
Approximately 20m east-to-west and 20m north-to-south but sherds further north.
Soil colour change.
Silt, a little more grey but confined by modern dumping on top and to north along roadside.
No briquetage.
R. Silvester (NAU) December 1982.
Some of the material recovered has been reidentified as a whetstone.
E. Rose (NAU).
For full details of wares, flint types etc. see Fenland Folders.
