Summary

This is the site of a post medieval house, probably occupied from the 17th century until the 20th century. Pottery dating from the Roman to the post medieval periods has been found by fieldwalking.

Very poor walking conditions.
7 medieval unglazed.
1 glazed Grimston.
1 late medieval or early post medieval sherd.
Identified A. Rogerson (NCM) February 1983.

24 February 1983. Further work, details as above.
Subdivided into Context 2 (north end) and Context 3 (south end). BB 72. Context 2.
Medium conditions walked.
Medieval unglazed and glazed Grimston.
Post medieval including stoneware.
Glazed clay pipe stem.
No concentrations but medieval is presumably spill over from concentration in site NHER 19096.
Context 3. South end of plot.
Includes a former house site.
Formerly a separate enclosure, indicated by very dark soil and rubble. Pot, clay pipe and building material not collected.
Indicates a possible 17th century to 20th century occupation.
But note very little medieval.
