Summary

Fieldwalking at this location in 1983 and 1986 recovered prehistoric flint flakes and prehistoric, Roman and medieval pottery sherds. Metal-detecting between 2015 and 2021 recovered Roman and medieval coins and a number of other, Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an undated copper alloy ring; Roman brooches, a child's bracelet fragment, toilet or medical implement and copper alloy stud; a potentially Roman possible necklet fragment; a Roman/Early Saxon penannular brooch; Early Saxon brooch fragments and wrist clasps; a Middle/Late Saxon strap end; medieval dress accessories and post-medieval buckles, a dagger quillon fragment and copper alloy tacks.
