April 2010. Norfolk NMP.
A sub-rectangular enclosure and two linear ditches are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1).
The enclosure is centred on TG 2495 1336, and measures 80m by a maximum of 43m, being wider at its eastern end than the west, as described above. It is oriented northwest-southeast, and appears to exhibit a possible entrance, or extension, at its north-western end. This feature may date to the Early Iron Age-Roman period, and is roughly on the same alignment as the Roman marching camp identified 1.5km to the west (NHER 16451), but it may equally date to the late Saxon, or medieval-post medieval period, as there are a number of finds recovered from the vicinity that date to these periods (NHER 33114, 41878).
Two parallel linear ditches are also visible, to the north and south of this enclosure, but it is likely that these relate to medieval to post medieval land division as they are parallel to the field edges and the parish boundary.
E. Bales (NMP), April 2010.

See (S2) for additional aerial photographs.
H. Hamilton (HES), 22 August 2013.
