Cropmarks of a trapezoidal enclosure and field boundaries of probable medieval to early post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2). The central grid reference for these cropmarks has been adjusted from TG 3270 1210 to TG 3282 1216. A double ditched trapezoidal enclosure cropmark is present on a northwest to southeast alignment. It measures 120m by 45m internally. The double ditch is only fully visible on the northwest and northeast sides. A cross-shaped arrangement of ditches at its southern corner suggest that the double ditches were present on all sides of the enclosure and that they continued to the southwest and southeast, possibly defining further enclosures. To the south of the enclosure and partly overlapping these ditches are double and single linear ditch cropmarks on north-northeast to south-southwest alignments. These ditches appear to represent field boundaries extending to Bonds Road to the south. The easternmost of these boundaries and the trapezoidal enclosure are marked on the 1845 Blofield tithe map (S3). This area lay on the edge of Mousehold Heath on Faden’s 1797 Map of Norfolk (S4). It is likely that these cropmarks relate to late medieval to early post medieval enclosure either at the edge of, or on, the heath itself. A southwest to northeast aligned linear ditch cropmark on the eastern edge of this group relates to a former stream course and field boundary of medieval to post medieval date.
