Summary

Fenland fieldwalking here in 1983 recovered sherds of Roman and medieval pottery. Subsequent metal detecting in 2000-01 recovered pieces of medieval metalwork including an annular brooch or buckle, copper alloy belt or buckle plate and copper alloy rotary key.

May or earlier 2000. Metal detecting.
Annular brooch or buckle. Plain fame without pin constriction. Internal diameter 11mm, external diameter 16mm. Outer edge is sharply carinated, and the inner flat. Wire pin is lighter green alloy. Of a type considered by G. Egan to be early 12th century.

Medieval copper alloy belt or buckle plate, rectangular (13 x 36mm), pierced by to rivet-holes, engraved lines with two angular asymmetrical zones of rocker-arm decoration.
Medieval copper alloy rotary key, crudely cast, double moulded collar below circular bow, broken shank. 22 (at least) x 11mm.
