Summary

Fenland fieldwalking in 1983 recovered several sherds of medieval pottery from this location. Subsequent metal detecting in 2000 found an unusual copper alloy object with an attachment bar and decorated with foliate scroll and curving leaf motif. It was identified as a 12th century object and was felt to be similar to box mounts of this period.
