Fenland fieldwalking here in 1983 recorded a scatter of Roman pottery sherds and undated bone fragements.

Map

16 March 1983. In weathered ploughed part of site scatter over about 20m east-west x 25m+ northwest to southeast at about 2.4m (8ft) OD. 0.6m (2ft) below level of adjacent road.
Roman pottery forming small scatter on edge ploughed field. Small amount bone also. Probably edge of larger site.
In pasture west side site present tenant states he has found pottery now in KLM and Wisbech Museum (though not recorded at either). Retains a coarse ware base. Farmer on Common Road reseeded pasture recently and also found pottery here. Believes it to be Roman but cannot find it at present. Exact dimensions not possible therefore.
