Summary

Fenland fieldwalking here in 1983 recovered sherds of medieval pottery. Subsequent metal detecting in 1996 recovered a medieval copper alloy belt slide.

18 March 1983. From well-weathered surface almost entirely between roses on south side field. Rest of area recently
ploughed and harrowed.

October 1996. Metal detector find at [1].
Double-looped object, medieval, probably a belt slide. Small rectangular with larger D-shaped loop. Latter with cast human head with crown or elaborate hair style, set at right angle to object. Central bar (as well as rest of loops) of rectangular section and therefore this cannot be a buckle.
