17th to early 18th century.
Brick and flint, painted, house aligned east to west.
North facade of 2 storeys with string course.
4 bays on upper floor with blank panels between 2 windows.
Ground floor altered.
Shaped gables with chimneys.

To rear (south) is a tall single-bay building of high quality.
2 shaped gables in brick.
Walls of alternate knapped flint blocks and bricks, quoins of brick.
Altered window in gable.
Connection between this and main block cannot now be judged as surrounded by later extensions.

Listing Description:
Public house, early C18, of colourwashed. brick, red brick, brick and flint, with pantiled roof. 2 early Cl8 wings, that to the south 'L' shaped, infilled to form triple pile of 2 storeys, with attic in southern wing. Principal facade to north 6 bays, Rendered plinth, brick platband at first floor level. 2 C19 3-light windows with transoms and segmental brick arches at ground floor. Off centre part glazed entrance door with raised and fielded panels and modern gabled porch. 4 C18 2-light windows with transoms, single galzing bars and wrought iron casements at first floor level, with blank panels inside the outer windows. Corbelled brick eaves. Curved gables, with platband at first floor level, tie irons and internal stacks. Southern wing, possibly C17, of chequered brick and flint. Sash windows to west on each floor, with later glazed oculus in gable. Curved gables to east and west with moulded brick kneelers and tie irons, with platband at attic floor level to west. Central C19 section has hipped roof to east, and abuts the external gable stack of the north gable of the south wing.
