In 1980 a single very worn Roman coin was recovered from the Watton area. It was made in 85 BC but was used until around AD 100.

1980. 'From Watton area'.
Roman coin, 85 BC, 'L IVLIVS BVRSIO'.
Very worn - in use until AD 100 or so.
