Summary

Old Farm is an L-shaped farmhouse, probably dating the 16th or early 17th century, and extended and altered during a later period. Both the main building and the two wings are timber-framed, and the brick west gable and southeast wing both have a chimneystack with octagonal flues.

Formerly Old Manor Farm.

Said locally to have been a manor house and moated, but these are unlikely.
Three blocks probably 16th century, about 1600 and 'later'.

September 1951. Listed, Grade II.
Late 16th century/early 17th century. Plastered timber frame on a brick plinth. Steep tiled roofs with gabled ends. West end brick with corbelled gable parapet with moulded chimney stack with two octagonal flues. L-shaped on plan. The south-east wing has similar external chimney stack on east side. Two storeys and attic (attic windows in gable ends). One storey and attic wing at rear (north) plastered timber frame with tiled roof with gabled end with external brick chimney stack.

2009. Building survey.
The house seems to contain three separate building phases; the west section of the house, the kitchen or backhouse, and finally the crosswing. Dendrochronological assessment gave beams in the kitchen a felling date of 1595 and the crosswing a date range of 1579-1615.
