Summary

Fieldwalking between 1981 and 1983 recovered a large quantity of prehistoric burnt flints, fragments of prehistoric, Roman, Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery, together with Roman tile fragments and oyster shells. Also noted were several areas of black soil. The indications are that the site saw human occupation, or at least activity, over a long period.

Context 1.
Large quantities of pot boilers.
Prehistoric pottery.
Roman sherds, tegulae, oyster shell.
Medieval sherds. Two Thetford type sherds. One Ipswich ware.
Post medieval sherds.
Black soil patches.
