Summary

Fieldwalking between 1981 and 1983 recovered prehistoric flints together with Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery fragments. Metal detecting between 1993 and 2020 recovered an Early Neolithic retouched flint flake; a medieval coin and a number of other metal objects, including a ?Late Saxon/medieval unidentified lead object; a medieval strap end, buckle, vessel rim and part of a book clasp and a post-medieval harness mount and lead weight.

Base of 11th century Winchester style strap end cast, very stylised leaf decoration.
13th century buckle, two moulded 'rings' as pin rest.
Medieval vessel rim ?chafing dish. Pierced hole for handle with three decorative holes below (broken).
Medieval or Early post medieval ?book clasp trefoil terminal, decorated with dot in circle and three dots in circle on rectangular strip, broken.
17th century harness mount, dumbell shaped, decorated and punched annulets.
Lead weight, equal armed cross on one face, and four punched dots (to indicate four ounces).

Early Neolithic retouched blade-like flint flake, medieval coin, strap fitting, thimble, spindle whorl and weight, medieval/ post medieval buckle, strap fitting, bell, finger ring, seal matrix and vessel, post medieval button, sword belt, book fitting, knife and an undated lead weight.
