Summary

A Bronze Age leaf-shaped copper alloy socketed spearhead with basal loops was found in a carrot factory in Chatteris during the processing of carrots from Feltwell Fen Farm. Some remains of the wooden shaft could still be seen inside the spearhead.

April or May 1983. Found at Graves and Graves Carrot Plant, Chatteris on a conveyor after a load of carrots was brought in from Feltwell Fen Farm (owns land TL 68 NE, TL 68 NW and surrounds).
Bronze leaf shaped socketed spearhead with basal loops. Overall length 12.5cm (5 inches) retaining portions of wood inside. Weight approximately 450g (1 pound).
