Summary

In 1983 a number of prehistoric flint implements were recovered from the ploughed field surface here. Tool types identified included a flaked punch of flint, flint cores, scrapers, an awl and a small patinated blade and several unpatinated coarse flakes. These items dated to the Mesolithic and Neolithic periods.

1983. Stray Find.
Found by [1] on ploughed field on Hill Farm (Field no. 191), on east side of beck:
1 Mesolithic two-platform prismatic flint blade core.
Various worked flints of unspecified date (but most likely Neolithic), including:
1 flint punch - slightly stained with some recent damage (S1), 6 cores, 2 scrapers, 1 awl, 1 small patinated blade and several unpatinated coase flakes.
Identified by J. J. Wymer (NAU).
