Summary

Fragments of Roman pottery and bones were collected from a stubble field during a picnic. A 'stone object like a cobblers last' was also recovered. One fragment of pottery was inscribed OLICEN.

'Years ago' in 1983 but post 1945.
Found on surface of stubble field southwest of Deepdale Church when picnicing.
Numbers of sherds and bones scattered around, also a 'stone object like a cobblers last'. One sherd inscribed OLICEN.
Latter given to [1] who sent it to [2] for publication in 'a volume of Journal of Roman Studies as a footnote' in which it was described as penes finder (with wrong address) but in fact [1] did not return it. Also published by [3] 'Monuments of the cult of Jupiter Dolichenus'.
Information from finder, [4]. Other finds lost.
