Summary

A prehistoric perforated quarzite macehead was found on the surface here in 1983. These objects are not closely datable, having been found in both Mesolithic and later prehistoric contexts.

Macehead with hourglass perforation found south-west of former lodge of hall. [1]
In brown flint? Almost a parallelogram with rounded corners. Maximum width 8cm one way by maximum 5cm the other. Although recorded as Mesolithic on (S1) it should be noted that these objects are not closely datable, having been found in both Mesolithic and later prehistoric contexts. This discovery was reported in (S2).
