NHER 19583 (Monument record) - Earthworks of a medieval or post medieval enclosure

October 1983. Mark of rectangular earthwork visited. (First noted by D. Edwards (NAU) on NAU AP.)
On ground three sides of very low earthwork of rectangular shape. Ditch 20-30cm deep. Bank inside no more than 20cm and on two sides only. On southwest ditch only and this is cut through the tail of the adjacent break water (or spoil spread from it). Internally a slight rise to the southwest suggests a platform with a corresponding low in the centre
of the area. No indication of earthwork on northwest where ditches fade out. Beyond the fence on this side is an abandoned pond. To the northeast another slightly more substantial ditch presumably a field dyke with low bank
outside.

North-east section of site now under arable, with no visible
earthworks. To south-west earthwork still seen as low platform, with
dried out pond in extreme west corner. Grazed by horses.
