Full Description
17 October 1983. Fenland fieldwalking. 100 acre plus field. Conditions very poor. Rough ploughed and partly weathered. Bright sunlight.
Context 1: sherds all over field, mostly medieval, mostly from extreme east end adjacent to medieval drove. WPP AB (S1).
Context 2: at 5202 1156 at 7-8 feet (2.1m - 2.4m) OD. Quite sizeable concentration of Roman sherds over top and southeast side of medium roddon. Despite condition of field quite a reasonable amount of material but no bone or other
find types noted. Hint of dark stain on ground. WPP 4 (S2).
