Summary

Fieldwalking in 1983 by the Fenland Survey recorded the remains of a roddon in this field which had been partly removed by a medieval drove from Walpole, which remained as a damaged earthwork. A small number of medieval pottery sherds were also recovered from this field.

28 October 1983. Field through which roddon runs.
Roddon partly removed by medieval drove from Walpole (deliberate construction?) which remains as earthwork north to south down west side of field. The landowners filled in pits and put the bulldozer out to graze in this field within the last ten years, altering the topography.
Odd sherds of medieval pot found. WPP AJ (S1).
