Summary

Metal detecting and fieldwalking have led to the discovery of prehistoric to post medieval objects. They include prehistoric flint artefacts, a possible medieval harness mount and medieval coins.

Context 2. Shortcross cut farthing, type illegible (found October). [1].
Context 3 (formerly NHER 19272). Medieval gilt bronze toilet implement? (found April), (S1). [2].
Context 4 (formerly NHER 19273). Cut shortcross farthing, Henry III class 6, 1218 to 1223, moneyer Piers, mint Durham or London. [3]

Fieldwalking. Context 1 general scatter over west end field.
Clay pipe stem, bronze post medieval objects, iron post medieval key, worked prehistoric flint.

May 1984. Metal detecting. Found in ploughsoil.
Field west of Priory Farm, not accurately located within field.
Thin copper alloy plate, form reminiscent of shaped gable, with copper alloy bar on rear for attachment to strap: harness mount? Both surfaces bear remains of gilding, front also bears copper alloy applique plate soldered in position, in form of crown. Marks below it suggest other appliques now missing in more or less circular pattern. Late medieval?
