November 1983. Site visit.
Jettied house recently revealed by stripping interior. Timber framed upper storey with two straight wall braces both sloping in the same direction. Modern shop below. 16th/early 17th century.
E. Rose (NAU), 14 November 1983.

January 1983. Listed Grade II.
Added to (S1) and dated to mid 16th century.
(S1) states interior retains complete original roof with three cambered tiebeams with plain stopped chamfers supporting square sectioned crownposts. Arched braces to collar purlin and curved down braces to tiebeam from alternate crown posts. Double collars to alternate rafter couples. Later inserted side purlins include a reused moulded member on west.
Information from (S1).
E. Rose (NAU), 24 June 1987.

Revised (S1) describes as late 15th century saying that is has arched (not straight) braces. Roof has primitive crownposts, collars and two tiers butt purlins. Two niches in south wall, and fireplace. North wall relocated.
E. Rose (NLA), 24 February 1999.

December 2004. Building survey.
This building is at the centre of the medieval town and part of a medieval street frontage, on the east side. Date of around 1500, perhaps a fragment of a longer building. See (S2) for detailed description. The south end of the upper floor has a fireplace with a bressumer inscribed 'G O 1714', which (S2) suggests may reflect a change of ownership.
See also (S3) which notes a four-light mullioned window with a king mullion to the first floor.
E. Rose (NLA), 10 December 2004, amended A. Cattermole (King's Lynn UAD), 23 November 2018.
