Summary

Metal detecting at this spot has recovered six Roman coins, a Roman brooch, two Late Saxon coins, a medieval mount, a medieval coin and a post medieval lead weight. The Saxon coins were of Edward the Elder minted between AD 899 and 924 and Harthacnut, minted between 1040 and 1042. The medieval coin was minted in 1280 by Edward I.

Five Roman coins:
Three barbarous radiates AD 270 to 280s;
Constantine II, GLORIA EXERCITVS (2 standards) AD 330 to 335;
Constans VICTORIAE DD AVGGQNN AD 347 to 348.
Late Saxon coin: halfpenny of Harthacnut, arm and sceptre type AD 1040 to 1042, moneyer Leofwinc or Leofnoth.
