Summary

A partially perforated prehistoric stone object, probably an incomplete pebble macehead, was found here in the early 1980s. These objects are not closely datable, having been found in both Mesolithic and later prehistoric contexts.

Found by [1] in garden of South View, High Road, Roydon, east of church (house not on 6 inch Ordnance Survey map; position estimated):
?Sandstone pebble macehead with incomplete hour-glass perforation (petrology N269). This discovery was reported in (S1). Donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1983.334), see sketch in file. Information from (S3). These objects are not closely datable, having been found in both Mesolithic and later prehistoric contexts.
