Summary

Metal detecting here in 1983-84 recovered a range of metal objects. These included a medieval cauldron leg, a medieval gilt bronze sheet harness pendant and coins of Edward I and III. In addition to these metal objects, several prehistoric flints were also retrieved along with sherds of Late Saxon Thetford Ware and medieval green glazed Grimston Ware pottery.

1983. Found with metal detecting.
Two struck flints of Neolithic type (identified by J. Wymer (NAU) November 1983).
Pottery: early medieval rim; Green glazed Grimston; Late medieval Transitional ware.
Penny of Edward I minted London, North class 10b 1302-10. Farthing, undated. Halfpenny of Edward III minted in London, EDVARDVS REX.
Fragment of decorated bronze, medieval; Bronze cauldron leg, medieval. Many lead objects and fragments, medieval or later?
Groat of Elizabeth I pre 1561; Groat of Philip and Mary 1554-8.
Thistle mark of James VI of Scotland 1602. Obverse: IACOBVS 6 D G R SCOTORVM shield of Scotland crowned. Reverse: REGEM IOVA PROTEGIT 1602 leaved thistle crowned.
One base sherd, probably Thetford-type.

Post medieval bronze mount with foliage decoration similar to one from NHER 20197.
Also lava quern, held by NCM.
