Summary

A Roman clay furnace or oven was found in 1982 during the digging of a cess pit, together with a fragment of Roman pottery. A further piece of Roman pottery was found in 1999.

This refers to a ?domed oven or furnace of clay found in digging a cess pit. Roman greyware sherd found in same pit but not amongst the burnt clay of which there is a lot at NCM, also a written account.
