Summary

Fieldwalking in 1984 by the Fenland Survey recovered a scatter of medieval sherds, as well as a few Roman sherds at the east end of this field, close by the dykes. A concentration of medieval pottery sherds, associated with moderate amounts of post medieval material, abundant fired clay fragments, slag and very sparse shell was also noted on the edge of a medieval drove way.

21 February 1984. Fenland fieldwalking. Well weathered plough soil but one patch under strawberries. (S1).
TSJ 14 (S2), TSJ AK (S3).
Context 1 - general scatter medieval sherds, plus few Roman at east end close by dykes.
Context 2 at 5382 1489. Scatter medieval pot 33m x 25m with moderate amounts post medieval material, abundant fired clay fragments, slag and very sparse shell. On edge of medieval drove.
