Full Description
17 November 1983. Strip 120m east to west of growing corn, medium to good conditions. Site 111.
1 rim Roman storage jar.
1 sherd ?Medieval unglazed.
1 sherd glazed red earthenware.
Identified A. Rogerson (NAU) February 1984.
17 January 1986. Fieldwalking of remainder of field, see (S1) in file. Good conditions growing cereal.
Context 2 (BB 295). No finds except undated copper alloy finger ring.
Context 3 (BB 296). 9 flints, 5 medieval unglazed, 1 miscellaneous sherd.
Fragment of stone shaft holed object, ?weight. Sandstone: prehistoric.
Identified J. J. Wymer (NAU).
Context 4 (BB 297). 3 flints; 5 gritty Iron Age including 1 with impressed decoration; 15 medieval unglazed; 1 scrap probably Roman greyware.
1 glazed Grimston; 15 medieval glazed with white inclusions software.
15 miscellaneous sherds.
Most of all pottery in southern half.
