Full Description
August 1974.
Reference found in old field book by S. Mottram (KLM) to objects brought for identification 31 August 1974; location given as '875 730 in field east of Hockwold to Lakenheath road'. Grid reference is clearly reversed but points to area three fields east of road; so could really be from sites NHER 5357, NHER 5455, NHER 5461 or NHER 5462.
Two miniature Roman copper alloy votive axes.
'Also late 3rd century coin,' no details.
Outline sketch of axes in file.
E.M. James (KLM) 20 February 1984.
