Full Description
February 1984.
Surface finds in fieldwalking in two squares, 14 x 10m and 20 x 24m..
Plan in file.
1) Larger square produced tap slag, oyster shell, 43 medieval sherds, 18 Roman sherds including 1 Nar Valley or Pentney mortarium, 1 Samian, 1 rusticated decorated Nar Valley; 10 sherds not yet dated.
2) Smaller square to north produced tap slag; oyster shell, 36 medieval sherds including 6 Grimston of which 3 where green glazed; 6 Roman including one sherd Much Hadham colour coated and one sherd white painted.
3) 7 sherds not yet identified.
