Full Description
14 March 1984. Mixed conditions; part ploughed and weathered, part ploughed freshly and impossible to see anything, part under strawberries.
Context 1: odd sherds medieval pottery general scatter. WPP DT (S1).
Context 2: at 5101 1668. Concentration medieval pottery over large area 65 x 30m but note conditions as above. medieval pottery moderate; post medieval pot moderate to abundant. Building rubble and fired clay abundant; animal bone moderate. Shell slag and metal sparse. Evidence for post medieval building comprehensive particularly adjacent to Waterloo Farm. Also a medieval presence to which some of the bone and shell might belong. Medieval pot spreads to north where post medieval less common. On top and sides of medium roddon. WPP 63 (S2).
