Summary

Fieldwalking in 1983 to 1984, in advance of road construction work, recovered pottery a general scatter of pottery sherds close to the west field boundary. The area had been bulldozed recently, but Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval sherds were identified.

Winter 1983 - 1984. Found on surface of ploughed field while walking proposed bypass route (field numbered 94 for purpose of survey).
General scatter of pottery close to west field boundary - not walked in usual 25m blocks because area has been bulldozed recently.
Three Roman coarse sherds including one combed storage jar sherd, one Late Saxon Thetford ware rouletted bowl rim.
One medieval Grimston green-glazed sherd and three post medieval.
