Summary

Prehistoric pot boilers recovered during the Fenland fieldwalking survey. This site is part of a larger site that incorporates NHER 20229 and 20231.

27 March 1984. Fenland Fieldwalking. On sand ridge.
Pot boilers; extent not yet clear but separate from NHER 20229.
R. Silvester (NAU) 27 March 1984.

1989 to 1990. Further fieldwork during Fenland Evaluation Project.
Auger traverses across and around site. Also Sondage excavation to sample the peat covered buried soil.
It is probable that the site continues under peat and that it forms part of a larger site with NHER 20229 (HCW 49) and NHER 20231 (HCW 51).
A dossier has been prepared for HBMC, see (S1) in file.
