Summary

Fieldwalking in 1984 by the Fenland Survey recovered a scatter of Roman and medieval pottery sherds, as well as recording a spread of Roman pottery sherds adjoining the infilled dyke and probably derived from it.

2 April 1984. Well weathered plough soil.
Context 1 = general scatter medieval and Roman sherds, latter from area of Context 2.
Context 2 at 5707 1532. Spread of Roman pottery adjoining infilled dyke and probably derived from it. Pottery sparse to moderate; two bone fragments noted. No soil staining, not on roddon. 41 x 25m.
