Map

1983 to 1984. Hales Survey site 110.
Sandy field with upward slope to old track on east, heavier clay to south. But see note below.
26 worked flints - found in even scatter. (1 end scraper, 25 flakes some with crude retouch).
1 sherd probably medieval unglazed.
1 base Roman or medieval.
1 sherd glazed red earthenware.
1 sherd 16th century glazed.
1 base flower pot.
(S1) in file.
Identified by A. Rogerson (NAU) 1984.
NB. (S1) in file of this site is difficult to reconcile with plan previously supplied of NHER 19325 (field to south). This present plan shows field same shape as on (S2), with pit at southeast corner as thereon, but with south boundary joining road on west at different location. Has south boundary been angled to northwest more steeply than shown
on sketch plan? No - this was a mistake - see file.
E. Rose (NAU) 15 May 1984.
