Summary

This is the site of a post medieval flint working site, which was probably producing gunflints. Part of a Late Saxon bridle, medieval buckles and post medieval metalwork have been found by metal detecting, and medieval and post medieval pottery has been found by fieldwalking.

16 February 1984. Northern 2/3 of field OS 80. Examined rapidly; good conditions, growing crop.
Post medieval sherds not collected.
No concentrations except area of gunflint knapping debris with very restricted distribution, west of a large ?natural peat
filled depression.

Other finds; 5 medieval unglazed, 5 glazed Grimston.
