Full Description
16 February 1984. North edge of field OS no. 3959. South of houses in Church Road.
Good fieldwalking conditions, growing crop. No concentrations. Light sprinkling post medieval sherds not collected. Presumably scatter in back of tofts or infield.
Late Saxon, Roman, Middle Saxon, prehistoric, medieval sherds, some metalwork.

Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age socketed axehead.
Roman pair of tweezers, terret and a brooch fragment.
Early Saxon spangle.
Middle/Late Saxon pair of tweezers.
Medieval harness mounts, buckles, strap fittings, a seal matrix and part of a copper alloy tripod ewer.
Medieval/post-medieval button, buckle frame, thimble, strap clasp and a pommel from a rondel dagger.
Post-medieval silver cuff-link, button, crotal bell and a harness mount.
