Summary

This is the site of an Iron Age settlement. Fragments of pottery dating from the late prehistoric to the post medieval periods have been found by fieldwalking. Iron Age, Roman and post medieval coins, and other metalwork has been found by metal detecting.

Full Description

22 February 1984. Medium conditions, growing corn except context 2 and context 4.
Greenstone implement fragment, Iron Age, prehistoric, Roman and medieval sherds.

Post medieval sherds not collected; no concentrations.

February 1987. Further fieldwalking extended area over BB 568 to 571 and 769 to 774, contexts 8 to 14.
Finds as above plus Bronze Age, Middle Saxon, Late Saxon sherds.
