Summary

Metal-detecting in 1984 and between 2010 and 2012 recovered Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins and a number of other metal objects, including a Middle/Late Saxon disc brooch; Late Saxon disc brooches and a lead weight; medieval buckles, thimbles and a strap end and post-medieval harness mounts.

Spring 1984. Metal-detecting.
Found in ploughsoil in second field west of Hardley Hall, and southwest of corner of next field to north.
Three Roman bronze coins, all in southern half of main field - two irregular antoniniani, one in name of Tetricus II, both 270s to 280s, and Valens SECVRITAS REIPVBLICAE, AD 364 to 378.
Four medieval coins, not accurately located within the two areas: Edward I penny, (S1), Bury St Edmunds Mint, AD 1302 to 1310; Edward III penny London mint, pellets on breast; Edwards III groat, London mint, Series D? AD 1352 to 13533; sixpence of Elizabeth I, 1561, initial mark pheon.
