Summary

At an unspecified date, an area covered with thin flat tiles was identied in this field. Two prehistoric worked flints were recovered nearby. Fieldwalking in 2000 recovered a number of additional prehistoric worked flints.

Area 9.2m (30ft) diameter of mainly thin flat tiles. One with conical hole made before firing. Smoothing off marks one side, rough on the other. Two cemented face to face with hot slag.

D-shaped scraper and part of a core.
Previously recorded as NHER 2055.

2000. Systematic Fieldwalking Survey.
Non-collection fieldwalking undertaken as part of archaeological assessment of Holkham Estate (Field 36).
Occasional prehistoric flint flakes.
Work undertaken following ploughing. No sign of tile.
