Summary

Fieldwalking and metal-detecting at this location between 1981 and 2023 recovered prehistoric worked flints; Roman, Middle Saxon, Late Saxon, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; brick and tile fragments (including a medieval floor tile); Roman and Late Saxon coins and a number of other, Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Roman silver finger ring; an Early Saxon brooch; medieval buckles, a book clasp and sword-scabbard chape and a post-medieval hooked tag and belt mount.

May 1980 and October 1981.[1].
Intensive fieldwalking, not well washed soil but evenly covered.
Roman greyware jar sherd; Grimston Thetford jar rim; 1 pimply Ipswich sherd.
Many medieval and post medieval sherds including Grimston, Late medieval/early post medieval, Glazed Red Earthenware etc and brick and tile including 1 medieval floor tile.
Several flint tools.
