Summary

This was the site of a common edge settlement during the medieval period. Field walking has recovered prehistoric flints, fragments of pottery dating from the Late Prehistoric, medieval and post medieval periods, and a post medieval thimble and token.

5 March and 16th September 1984. Field walking. Ordnance Survey field Great Fransham 201 (except portion removed for bypass). Good conditions.
Large quantity of medieval sherds including Grimston and late medieval/early post medieval, post medieval sherds including glazed red earthenware, prehistoric sherd and worked flints.
Copper alloy thimble and token (Post medieval?).
