Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting have recovered prehistoric worked flints and medieval and post medieval metal finds including two silver post medieval coins and an unusual medieval furniture fitting inscribed ]ES CASSON / ]EAR NOR in Norman French. The word CASSON translates as case or box suggesting the fitting may have come from a wooden box or casket.

1978. Found in fieldwalking.
Worked flints.
Ex [1]- his site 110.

November-December 2004. Metal-detecting. Site extended to whole field.
1 medieval inscribed furniture fitting (see (S1)) and 1 composite buckle.
1 medieval/post-medieval paper clip rivet.
2 post-medieval coins, 1 belt mount, 1 croatal bell and 1 signet ring.
