Summary

Prehistoric flints and fragments of pottery dating from the Roman to the post medieval periods, found during field walking. Architectural fragments collected during field walking suggest that there may have been a building of unknown date on the site.

Full Description

1983 to 1984. Field walking. Field Ordnance Survey Great Fransham 275.
Very poor (1983) and very good (1984) conditions.
Roman sherds including Samian.
Medieval sherds including Grimston, post medieval sherds including glazed red earthenware.
Prehistoric flints.
Shelly limestone lump.
Thetford ware Late Saxon; Ipswich ware Middle Saxon.
