Summary

This was the site of a settlement in the 16th and 17th centuries. Field walking has recovered a whetstone of unknown date, prehistoric flints, prehistoric pot boilers, architectural fragments of medieval or post medieval date, and fragments of medieval and post medieval pottery.

Full Description

Early 1983. Ordnance Survey field Great Fransham 337. Field walking, varying conditions.
Large numbers medieval sherds including Grimston and early Medieval, post medieval sherds including glazed red earthenware, Staffs, worked flint, limestone, window lead etc.
