Full Description
8 November 1984. Fenland fieldwalking.
Good conditions, ploughed and weathered.
Context 1.
General scatter of odd fragments of flint and pot boilers on island, part of much larger feature to north. Pot boilers
localised but not sufficient to categorise as context. Island up to 60cm above fen peat. FWL AR.
Context 2 at 6397 8820.
Very small concentration of pot boilers (thirty to forty) in area no more than 2 x 1m. Obviously just turned up by plough and as yet not dispersed for virtually no pot boilers beyond boundary of area. On mineral soil (sandy with flint) which is flush with peat surface. No samples taken. FWL 25.
R. J. Silvester (NAU), 8 November 1984.
For full details of wares, flint types etc see (S1).
1996/1997. Within reservoir investigation area.
For palaeoenvironmental appraisal see (S2) in file for NHER 5292.
Comp. D. Gurney (NLA) 23 May 1997.
